Africa
In 2016 I went to Kenya with Grace & Glory Yoga on a Seva Safari for the Africa Yoga Project.
Grace & Glory is our home yoga studio and we're affiliated with AYP, so we set up our own seva (service) trip to raise money and physically help out however we could. While we were there we met some of the nicest humans on this planet and were lucky enough to give back, if even just a little. During our trip we experienced so much (like you know, your classic cliche 'life changing trip') it's indescribable really, hell, we even got stuck in the middle of Amboseli due to a flash flood and stayed the night in a Maasai village. We did a lot, learned a lot, and experienced a lot. The people we practiced yoga with in Nairobi have become our dear friends and it's truly awesome to see what they are doing over there in Kenya for the local community. We were also able to share experiences with other people that we can't explain to others, it's a weird phenomenon that I hope with my photos can help explain what we were a part of.
I tried to be there with our mantra which we established as a group early on of 'love, leadership, and legacy' on the forefront of my mind. With every experience I would try to think about what those words meant to me. Even the hardest parts, I wouldn't of had it any other way.
With that, this is my photo journal of our time spent in Kenya...
